A rectangular 18 karat yellow gold cigarette case, by Cartier, dated 1947, with fitted presentation box. The exterior surface of the case is patterned with undulating horizontal stripes. The push-in ruby cabochon thumb-piece opens the case to reveal an openwork strip of patterned gold to secure any contents. Signed JC for Jacques Cartier, 12.5 cm x 8 cm.
